Queensland Country Bank Stadium is in the midst of their biggest line up of major events, with a bang when Australia takes on Cook Islands in the Rugby League World Cup this weekend.
The huge international event joins a massive season of major events locked in at Queensland Country Bank Stadium including Foo Fighters with their Take Cover Tour, and the Guns N’ Roses World Tour, as one of only two regional stops.
The blockbuster calendar of events marks the biggest in the stadium’s history and comes after anchor tenants North Queensland Cowboys celebrated their biggest year of home crowds filling the venue and propelling them into the finals.
Queensland Country Bank Stadium Venue General Manager Cameron Jones said it was great to see North Queenslanders show up to support major events locally.
“This year we’re raising the bar with exceptional live entertainment across motorsport, concerts and all codes of football, providing amazing and diverse experiences for North Queenslanders that used to be reserved for capital cities,” Mr Jones said.
“Townsville is exceptional at showing up and throwing their support behind content that travels to our city, so we know that each of these events will have that high-energy that we’ve come to expect from major events at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.”
“Having international rock royalty like Guns N’ Roses visit Townsville shows we are up there with the country’s biggest event destinations, and it will be an incredible way to round out our biggest ever year.”
Select tickets are still available for all upcoming events at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.
