Final preparations are underway to transform Queensland Country Bank Stadium into a concert arena, for The Killers’ greatest hits Rebel Diamonds concert, this Saturday 30 November.
The Grammy-nominated American rock band, known for hits like Mr Brightside and Somebody Told Me are kicking off their four-city national arena tour in Townsville, supported by Australian band JET.
Set up for the concert began on Sunday, with the arrival of 30 truckloads of staging and production gear, with around 150 production staff undertaking the six-day construction of the stage and dressing of the set.
Townsville will be the only stadium show, and only regional stop on the tour.
Gates open at 6:00pm Saturday, with show beginning at 7:00pm.

Quotes attributable to Frontier Touring Chief Production Officer Travis Hogan:
“I’ve watched the Killers perform more than 30 times and each time they bring an unparalleled energy and enthusiasm that has the entire crowd up out of their seats and dancing, so this, their only Australian stadium show, really is not to be missed!
“Bringing the razzle dazzle of ‘Vegas’ Down Under is no mean feat, we’ve got 25 plus trucks of staging, production, set and special effects, which is really going to wow North Queensland.”
Quotes attributable to Queensland Country Bank Stadium Venue General Manager Cameron Jones:
“It’s been a busy final few days’ preparation, with 45 pallets of food and beverages delivered, the installation of merchandise tents, an on-field bar and additional toilets and we’ll have around 1,000 staff on the night to ensure it all goes smoothly.
“We’re looking forward to a fantastic concert, and we’re just about ready to go, so we’re encouraging fans to also get ready - see our website for transport and gate details and most importantly ensure you download your ticket onto the AXS app.
