Pallets of pies, boxes of beer and semi-trailers full of staging gear has begun arriving at Queensland Country Bank Stadium, in preparation for The Killers concert, this Saturday 30 November.

More than 30 pallets of drinks and 15 pallets of food have been ordered for the event, which is expected to sell around 12,000 bottles of water, 30,000 alcoholic drinks, 2,000 burgers and up to 8,000 hot chips.

Concert goers are being encouraged to use Containers for Change bins across the venue to recycle eligible drink containers, with the proceeds being donated to men’s health charity Movember.

The Killers begin their four-city national tour in Townsville, at their only stadium show, supported by Australian band Jet.

Gates open at 6:00pm Saturday, with the show beginning at 7:00pm.

Quotes attributable to Queensland Country Bank Stadium Venue General Manager Cameron Jones:

“This is going to be THE event of the summer, so we’ve stocked up with around 45 pallets of food and drink, ready for concert goers this weekend.

“It’s going to be a hot one, up to 31 degrees, so we’re encouraging people to stay hydrated at one of the many water stations across the venue, and if you purchase a drink, please use the Container for Change bins provided to support Movember.

“Container recovery rates at our events are around 90%, so this concert could raise as much as $4,000 so we’re hoping concertgoers get onboard – our own team is also sporting moustaches and has been MO’ving for the month in support.

“We’re looking forward to a killer event - please our visit website for transport and gate details and most importantly ensure you download your ticket onto the AXS app.”
