Global icons Foo Fighters have announced they’re coming to Townsville in the biggest international music event the city has ever seen!
Queensland Country Bank Stadium will set the stage for an unforgettable night of wall-to-wall classics from one of the most successful rock bands in history, including smash hits like The Pretender, Best of You, and My Hero as part of their Take Cover Tour.
Led by rock legend Dave Grohl, with support acts Downgirl and Full Flower Moon Band, the concert on Saturday 7th November 2026 promises to be an unforgettable night for fans.
The Foo Fighters’ first visit to Townsville follows a growing run of major international acts choosing to bring their tours to Queensland Country Bank Stadium.
Queensland Country Bank Stadium Venue General Manager Cameron Jones said North Queensland is fast becoming one of Australia’s major sports and events destination.
“We’re ecstatic Foo Fighters are choosing to come to regional cities such as Townsville and we can’t wait to welcome this world-class act to our world-class stadium,” Mr Jones said.
“It doesn’t get much better than this – landing an artist on the scale of Foo Fighters is a game-changer for Townsville and a massive win for rock fans.”

Michael Chamberlain from the Bring Foo Fighters to Townsville group, said it was a huge win for local fans.
“Foo Fighters have a huge and loyal fanbase in North Queensland and this announcement means so much for fans and the whole region from Townsville, Mt Isa, Cairns, and Mackay,” he said.
“The band’s legendary yet humble showmanship is a perfect fit for a regional audience and no doubt Townsville is in for one hell of a show.
