BRINGING ITEMS INTO THE SHOW:
Are there any restrictions on outfits/costumes? There are no specific restriction on what you can and cannot wear however patrons are reminded that those who are, in the opinion of Stadium management, offensively attired or whose attire may cause a hazard or compromise safety may be refused entry into the Stadium. Please make yourself familiar with the ‘conditions on entry’ tab to the left.

How big can my bag be? Bags must be less than an A4 page in size. Large items can be cloaked – however avoid lines and pack light!

Can I bring binoculars? Yes – small binoculars are permitted.

Can I bring a pram? No. Prams and pushers are not permitted in the venue to Elton’s show. Items can be cloaked – however avoid lines by packing light!

Can I bring a thermos? Yes – Drinks in a thermos (which includes tea and coffee) are permitted. Thermos will be checked by security.

Can I bring deodorant/perfume? No aerosols. Please only bring what is necessary.

Can I bring water? Sealed bottled water in plastic bottles are permitted. Unsealed plastic bottles must be empty when entering the venue and can be filled up once inside. There are internal water bubblers located around the venue on the level one concourse.

Will I be subject to a security search at entry? Yes. As a condition of entry and to assist in providing a safer environment for everyone, a security search and wanding will take place prior to entry. Allow extra time for entry procedures. Please make yourself familiar with the ‘conditions on entry’ found in the tab to the left.
 
INSIDE THE STADIUM/ SHOW INFO:
What time do gates open? 5pm

What time does the concert start and finish? Tate Sheridan starts at 6:00pm and Elton John will start at 7:30pm. Elton John is expected to finish at approximately 10:15pm

Is there any pre-show entertainment or beverage/food facilities? Pre-show Entertainment includes Tate Sheridan (upcoming Triple J Unearthed artist) with a wide range of food and beverage offerings available at the Stadium from 5:00pm.

Are there food/drink outlets on the field of play? There will be a bar operating on the field of play; patrons will be able to access the level one food and beverage stands from the field.

What merchandise is available and when do stands open? Yes! Merchandise will be available throughout the venue. Stands open when gates open at 5pm.

Will merchandise stands have EFTPOS? Yes!

Where are the ATMs located? There are three ATM’s located within Queensland Country Bank Stadium – all are on the level one concourse.

Where are the water bubblers located? There are internal water bubblers located around the venue on the level one concourse.
 
PARKING AND TRANSPORT:
Can I get dropped off/picked up by a friend, cab or Rideshare? Yes, rideshare and general drop off/pick up zones are located on Morey Street and Flinders Street (near Little Fletcher Street).Taxi drop off/pick up zone is on Dean Street (adjacent to Central Park). What are the arrangements for people with a disability (parking and drop off zone)? A dedicated accessibility zone for pick up and drop off is located on Pride Close follow the signs to the Stadium.
People with wheelchairs are able to book to use the Queensland Country Bank Stadium southern carpark (carpark 1) via a pre-booked service, please contact the venue team for more information.

People with mobility issues (e.g. those who can't walk long distances) are able to park at the Townsville Showgrounds* and can catch the free shuttle bus directly to the Stadium.

*subject to weather - update will be issued on Thursday 27 Feb.

When do the Park and Ride shuttles start and finish and how often do they run? Shuttles from the Park’n’Ride sites will commence at 4.30pm – visit the getting here page for the most up-to-date information.

When do the roads close/re-open? Please note the following changed traffic conditions: Lowths Bridge (Rooney Street) will be closed from 2pm until 60min after the Show; Dean Street Car Park will be closed from 2pm; Areas on Saunders St and Boundary Street around the stadium will be no right turn pre and post show.

Where can I park? Is it FREE?
Due to weather a car parking update will be issued on Thursday, 27 Feb – currently the following option are available but subject to change:

  • Reid Park pre-paid Park ‘n’ Walk – Reid Park car parking is pre-paid via Townsville Council, click here for more information. Rain may impact parking availability

  • Lou Litster Carpark Park’n’Walk – The Lou Litster Car Park is located on Brodie Street (Hermit Park, no entry from Second Ave Railway Estate). The Lou Litster Car Park is FREE for ticket holders and will open at 4.15pm

  • Showgrounds Park’n’Ride – The Townsville Showgrounds FREE Park’n’Ride with FREE event shuttles to the Stadium will open at 4.15pm. Shuttle buses to the venue commence at 4.30pm and run 60min post show – please note cars must be cleared from the showground by midnight on show day, Rain may impact parking availability

  • Other parking options – Parking is also available in the Townsville CBD and surrounding suburbs - please abide by new parking restrictions in suburbs surrounding the stadium for more information visit Council’s website

Will there be extra buses for this event? Translink are providing FREE event buses 4.30pm, dropping patrons off at the Ogden St Bus Hub. Click here for more information.

Where/when/what time can I pick up my tickets? Can I pick them up before event day?  If you’ve selected venue pick up for your tickets you’re able to collect them on:

  • Friday, 28 Feb 2020 between 11am-3pm at the Gate A ticket office (no stadium parking available please use locate council areas as signed)

  • Saturday, 29 Feb 2020 from 2.30pm until 8pm at either the Gate A or Gate D ticket office.

The original ticket purchasers must provide photo identification and credit card to collect tickets. Contact Ticketmaster on 136 100.

I’m arriving late- can I still pick up my tickets/will gates still be open? Yes, the ticket office and entry gates remain open until approximately 8pm.

What do I do if I can't pint my print-at-home ticket? Please have your ticket pre-loaded onto your phone, ready to scan with your phone brightness on high before entering the stadium precinct. Should you have any issues regarding your ticket please head to one of our ticket offices (located at Gates A and D) before queuing to enter the venue.

Any restrictions on children? No, but all patrons (regardless of age) must have a ticket!

Food and beverage

Patrons are not permitted to enter the venue with commercially packaged food or beverages. Patrons must surrender the items prior to entering the Stadium. Patrons are permitted to enter the venue with homemade food, sealed bottled water (up to 1.25L) and sealed juice in small cardboard containers (up to 250mL). This does not apply to food or beverages for patrons with special dietary requirements, provided that such food or beverages are not packaged in prohibited containers. If you would like to bring in a prohibited item due to medical reasons, please contact us prior to attending the event.
Deliveries from external caterers will not be permitted into the Stadium.
 

Permitted Food and Beverage Items:

  • Homemade food (eg sandwiches/rolls, homemade cakes/biscuits, meals) in unmarked/non-branded containers and bags.
  • Commercial food packaged at home in unmarked/non-branded containers and bags.
  • Drinks carried in a thermos, including hot tea and coffee. Thermos will be checked by security.
  • Sealed commercial bottled water in plastic bottles (up to 1.25L) are permitted. Unsealed plastic bottles must be empty when entering the venue and can be filled up once inside. 
  • Juice and plain milk in small cardboard or plastic commercial containers (up to 250mL). Seal must be unbroken.


Prohibited food and beverage items:

  • Flavoured milk of any kind.
  • Soft drinks of any kind.
  • Food in commercial packaging of any kind, including takeaway.
  • Alcohol of any kind.


Bag size and other prohibited items

Oversized items will not be permitted into the venue.  Backpacks, handbags, satchels and baby bags are permitted as long as they are no larger than A4 size (30 x 30 x 10) and are subject to a bag search. Patrons who refuse inspections or searches may be denied entry to the Stadium.
Other prohibited items include:

  • No umbrellas are permitted, (only ponchos and rain coats are permitted).
  • No prams or pushers are permitted.
  • Drones are not permitted.
  • Professional standard cameras with detachable lenses are not permitted, however cameras without detachable lenses, tablets or iPads are permitted.  Audio and video recorders may only be brought into the Stadium at the discretion of Stadium management.
  • Items which, in the opinion of Stadium management, have the potential to cause injury or a nuisance or inconvenience to any other person will not be permitted into the Stadium. These include controlled, dangerous or illegal substances, cans, bottles, flares, fireworks, laser pointers, loud hailers and weapons of any description and may include certain musical instruments, flags and flagpoles and any other items considered by Stadium management to have the potential to cause injury or a nuisance or inconvenience to any other person.

Items not permitted must be cloaked at the nearest gate. All care is taken for the items, however no responsibility is taken for items that may have been damaged or lost. Patrons cloaking items will be issued with a ticket that they are required to present when collecting their items on their departure from the venue.


General Terms and Conditions

Entry to the Stadium is subject to the following terms:

  • The right of admission is reserved. In particular, the Venue and the Hirer reserve the right to refuse entry to, or to remove from, the Stadium any persons who are drunk or disorderly or whose conduct is unlawful or offensive or who are not entitled to attend the concert. Any person who causes a disturbance or who refuses to comply with reasonable requests from the Venue or the Hirer may be removed from the Stadium.

  • Unauthorised persons are prohibited from entering the Stadium field of play (unless they hold a ticket for this area) or any other area not accessible to the public.

  • Patrons must not wear or display commercial, political, religious or offensive signage or logos, sell any goods or services or give away political, religious, advertising or promotional materials without the prior written approval of the Venue and the Hirer.

  • Patrons who are, in the opinion of Stadium management, offensively attired or whose attire may cause a hazard or compromise safety may also be refused entry into the Stadium.

  • Security scans and explosive sweeps will be in place and around the venue.

  • Pass-outs may be issued at the discretion of the Stadium management.

  • Small personal cameras including phones are permitted, no professional standard cameras with detachable lenses, tablets or iPads are permitted.  Audio and video recorders may only be brought into the Stadium at the discretion of Stadium management.

  • Patrons are not permitted to transmit, broadcast, sell, license or otherwise publish, disseminate or reproduce any recordings (including, without limitation, photographic, video or sound recordings) of the event or match without the prior written approval of Stadium management. Such recordings may be confiscated or erased. Any recordings or recording devices which are confiscated will become the property of the Venue.

  • Patrons acknowledge that the Venue or the Hirer may use a Patron's image or likeness as part of any recording of the concert.

  • Patrons assume all risk of any damage or loss (including property damage, personal injury, economic and consequential loss) however it arises at the Stadium. Patrons bring personal effects onto the premises at their own risk. Neither the Venue nor the Hirer will be responsible for any damage to or loss or theft of a customer’s personal property.

  • Stadiums Queensland is collecting your personal information on CCTV in this area for the purpose of venue security and public safety. Footage may be provided to the Queensland Police Service. All personal information is handled in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009.

  • Persons under 12 years of age will not be permitted entry unless under the direct supervision of an adult 18 years of age or over.


Alcohol and tobacco consumption:

  • Alcoholic beverages must not be taken into or out of the Stadium. It is an offence for minors to purchase or consume alcohol or for persons to supply alcohol to minors. Alcohol may only be consumed in clearly marked areas of the Stadium.

  • Under the Tobacco and Other Smoking Products Act 1998 (Qld) smoking is prohibited in all areas of the Stadium and its precincts. Patrons who smoke in the Stadium:

    1. commit an offence against the Act, to which fines apply; and

Ticketing, entry and changes to the show:

  • Patrons with tickets purchased at a concessional price must have available on entry into the Stadium, a proof of age card or other documents justifying such concession.

  • Patrons may not be admitted if their tickets are damaged or defaced or their tickets have not been purchased from an authorised ticket agent.

  • Ticket Scalping - patrons who have purchased tickets in a manner which in any way breaches section 30C of the Major Sports Facilities Act 2001 (Qld) may be refused entry to the stadium. For more information, please view the Stadiums Queensland Ticket Scalping webpage.

  • The event or match may be cancelled, delayed or stopped due to dangerous situations, adverse weather or for any other cause beyond the Venue's control. Patrons may make a claim to the Hirer only for a replacement ticket if an event or match is rescheduled or for a refund of the appropriate amount of the face price of the ticket if the event is cancelled and not rescheduled.

  • The Hirer may add, withdraw or substitute competitors, teams or artists and/or vary advertised material, programmes, prices, seating arrangements, audience capacity, the venue or programme times without liability to the Hirer or to the Venue.

  • Professional standard cameras with detachable lenses are not permitted, however cameras without detachable lenses, tablets or iPads are permitted.  Audio and video recorders may only be brought into the Stadium at the discretion of Stadium management.
  • Items which, in the opinion of Stadium management, have the potential to cause injury or a nuisance or inconvenience to any other person will not be permitted into the Stadium. These include controlled, dangerous or illegal substances, cans, bottles, flares, fireworks, laser pointers, loud hailers and weapons of any description and may include certain musical instruments, flags and flagpoles and any other items considered by Stadium management to have the potential to cause injury or a nuisance or inconvenience to any other person.

Items not permitted must be cloaked at the nearest gate. All care is taken for the items, however no responsibility is taken for items that may have been damaged or lost. Patrons cloaking items will be issued with a ticket that they are required to present when collecting their items on their departure from the venue.


General Terms and Conditions

Entry to the Stadium is subject to the following terms:

  • The right of admission is reserved. In particular, the Venue and the Hirer reserve the right to refuse entry to, or to remove from, the Stadium any persons who are drunk or disorderly or whose conduct is unlawful or offensive or who are not entitled to attend the concert. Any person who causes a disturbance or who refuses to comply with reasonable requests from the Venue or the Hirer may be removed from the Stadium.

  • Unauthorised persons are prohibited from entering the Stadium field of play (unless they hold a ticket for this area) or any other area not accessible to the public.

  • Patrons must not wear or display commercial, political, religious or offensive signage or logos, sell any goods or services or give away political, religious, advertising or promotional materials without the prior written approval of the Venue and the Hirer.

  • Patrons who are, in the opinion of Stadium management, offensively attired or whose attire may cause a hazard or compromise safety may also be refused entry into the Stadium.

  • Security scans and explosive sweeps will be in place and around the venue.

  • Pass-outs may be issued at the discretion of the Stadium management.

  • Small personal cameras including phones are permitted, no professional standard cameras with detachable lenses, tablets or iPads are permitted.  Audio and video recorders may only be brought into the Stadium at the discretion of Stadium management.

  • Patrons are not permitted to transmit, broadcast, sell, license or otherwise publish, disseminate or reproduce any recordings (including, without limitation, photographic, video or sound recordings) of the event or match without the prior written approval of Stadium management. Such recordings may be confiscated or erased. Any recordings or recording devices which are confiscated will become the property of the Venue.

  • Patrons acknowledge that the Venue or the Hirer may use a Patron's image or likeness as part of any recording of the concert.

  • Patrons assume all risk of any damage or loss (including property damage, personal injury, economic and consequential loss) however it arises at the Stadium. Patrons bring personal effects onto the premises at their own risk. Neither the Venue nor the Hirer will be responsible for any damage to or loss or theft of a customer’s personal property.

  • Stadiums Queensland is collecting your personal information on CCTV in this area for the purpose of venue security and public safety. Footage may be provided to the Queensland Police Service. All personal information is handled in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009.

  • Persons under 12 years of age will not be permitted entry unless under the direct supervision of an adult 18 years of age or over.


Alcohol and tobacco consumption:

  • Alcoholic beverages must not be taken into or out of the Stadium. It is an offence for minors to purchase or consume alcohol or for persons to supply alcohol to minors. Alcohol may only be consumed in clearly marked areas of the Stadium.

  • Under the Tobacco and Other Smoking Products Act 1998 (Qld) smoking is prohibited in all areas of the Stadium and its precincts. Patrons who smoke in the Stadium:

    1. commit an offence against the Act, to which fines apply; and

Ticketing, entry and changes to the show:

  • Patrons with tickets purchased at a concessional price must have available on entry into the Stadium, a proof of age card or other documents justifying such concession.

  • Patrons may not be admitted if their tickets are damaged or defaced or their tickets have not been purchased from an authorised ticket agent.

  • Ticket Scalping - patrons who have purchased tickets in a manner which in any way breaches section 30C of the Major Sports Facilities Act 2001 (Qld) may be refused entry to the stadium. For more information, please view the Stadiums Queensland Ticket Scalping webpage.

  • The event or match may be cancelled, delayed or stopped due to dangerous situations, adverse weather or for any other cause beyond the Venue's control. Patrons may make a claim to the Hirer only for a replacement ticket if an event or match is rescheduled or for a refund of the appropriate amount of the face price of the ticket if the event is cancelled and not rescheduled.

  • The Hirer may add, withdraw or substitute competitors, teams or artists and/or vary advertised material, programmes, prices, seating arrangements, audience capacity, the venue or programme times without liability to the Hirer or to the Venue.

International superstar Sir Elton John will bring his final world tour, Farewell Yellow Brick Road, to Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Townsville as the first official act on 29 February 2020!

If you’ve selected venue pick up for your tickets you’re able to collect them on:

  • Friday, 28 Feb 2020 | 11am-3pm at the Gate A ticket office (no stadium parking available please use local council areas as signed)
  • Saturday, 29 Feb 2020 | from 3.30pm until 8pm at either the Gate A or Gate D ticket office.
